Initially aired during the 2010 NFL Super Bowl, this commercial for The Wizarding World of Harry Potter featured immersive CGI that lets viewers feel like they are actually riding a broomstick through Hogsmeade and around Hogwarts with Harry Potter himself!

The CG team were tasked with creating Hogsmeade and Hogwarts as full 3D models, as well as creating the surrounding environment and CG people to populate the streets. The Spintwitches shop was created in higher detail for the ‘Family’ advert, where a family are shown watching through the window as a snitch flies around causing havoc.

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter opened in late Spring 2010 in the Islands of Adventure theme park at the Universal Studios Orlando Resort.

My Role: Matchmove, keying, compositing, CG people. I also contributed to some of the texturing and lighting setups.
